ABOUT PUGE
The
Princeton University Gospel Ensemble (PUGE) is a
student-directed musical group, re-formed in 1983 to spread the
Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. Its repertoire includes
traditional spirituals, church hymns, and contemporary gospel that
reflect the variety of music that has developed in the Black
churches of America. The ensemble, united as a family in the love
of Christ, commits itself to exalting God, edifying saints, and
evangelizing sinners.

Past Events
The choir hosts a Christmas and
a Spring concert every year. Moreover, PUGE performs at various
events within the community. We were the featured guest at a
concert in Allentown, NJ. During the 2002 Spring Concert, held at
Princeton, PUGE hosted the Family Worship Center Choir, the Process
(a holy hip-hop group), and Princeton's own Kindred Spirit.
Musicians to Work With
The Choir's musician is Billy
Hunter. With 35 years of experience, he is well noted for his
innovative abilities on the piano. Singing as Billy plays is
certainly a unique experience. Kenny Grayson also sings with the
choir. He is a well-respected singer with over 30 years of
experience. He is often asked to sing at special Princeton events.
Craig Hayes, of Craig Hayes and the United Voices, has said that he
may be able to host a workshop. Professor Hayes has received his
doctorate in music and is highly respected in the Gospel Music
industry.
