MISSION STATEMENT

.

The Princeton University Gospel Ensemble (PUGE) is a student-directed musical group, reformed in 1983 to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song.  Its repertoire includes traditional spirituals, church hymns, and contemporary gospel that reflect the variety of music that has developed in the Black churches of America.  The ensemble, united as a family in the love of Christ, commits itself to exalting God, edifying saints, and evangelizing sinners.

PUGE'S PRAYER

Dear God,

We ask that You will watch over each choir member as he or she attempts to complete this semester at Princeton.  Let us know that You are with us even when we can barely feel Your presence.  Remind us that You said that You would never leave us nor forsake us.  Help us to depend on You and not to lean on our own understanding.  We desire to seek Your face, and we strive, daily, to be more like Your son Jesus.

I ask that You will remind us of the power of Your love, grace, and mercy. Let us know that You are able to sustain us in hard times.  When we need guidance, be our light.  When we need direction, be our compass.  When we need comfort, wipe the tears from our weeping eyes.  When we need encouragement, give us a divine pat on the back.  When we need strength, hold us up.  When we need rest, welcome us with Your loving arms. When we need protection, build a fence around us.  When we need joy, remind us of how awesome You are.  When we need peace, give us peace that surpasses all understanding.

Father, we ask that You give us all what we need to successfully fulfill our academic obligations.  We ask that You dispel the spirit of procrastination, and loose the power of diligence, persistence, and strength in our school work.  Let us know that we can truly do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  In You, we desire victorious living!

We pray this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ.

AMEN
