Scroll down below to see updated summer practice times. For those who have not previously paid the membership fee for the 2004-05 season, please have $10 ready for Steve Wallitt. This one-time charge will enable you to participate in the TT Club until September.

The 6th Garden State Open Table Tennis Tournament took place May 14-15 in Dillon Gym. Visit the following two web sites to see some pictures from the GSO:

PUTTC T-shirts are here. Click here to see the designs. Steve Wallitt is currently selling them at $10 each. Note that the color on design #2 is actually orange, not yellow.

Adam Hugh, currently the #1 ranked junior player in the U.S., has been admitted to Princeton University as a part of the Class of 2009. Adam will also play for Princeton in the NCTTA next season!

On March 1, 2005, the NCTTA board passed a "wild card" motion, allowing the highest ranked non-qualifying collegiate team to enter the 2005 NCTTA Championships. The Princeton University Table Tennis Club objects to the timing and the manner in which this decision was made. We think that it is bad policy to change the rules for the qualification to nationals at the end of the season, after most meets have been played. We are also convinced that using the "Top 25" list from November 21 to determine team rankings was arbitrary and unjustified. The whole decision seems to have been made with the purpose of allowing one particular school to attend the nationals, without setting clear and transparent criteria, and without informing NCTTA member schools. We hope that the representatives of the NCTTA will be more thoughtful when making such important decisions in the future.

Princeton lost 1-3 to U-Penn at the NCTTA Mid-Atlantic Division meet, with a very tight match between Mike Hsu and Eric Leventhal. Some pictures, courtesy of Volker Schröder, are currently available at www.princeton.edu/~volkers/PUTTC.

NCTTA results from both the fall and spring semester meets are posted at www.nctta.org, with all known mistakes fixed.

The 2004 Princeton Open Table Tennis Tournament was held on October 31 in Dillon Gym. We would like to congratulate Pan Lin from Princeton for winning the Open, Sid Viswanathan from Monroe for winning the U-1600, and Iuliana Radu from Rutgers for winning the Recreational! Thanks to everybody who participated - we hope to see you again in the future.

About Us

The Princeton University Table Tennis Club is committed to promoting table tennis as well as providing an environment where table tennis enthusiasts can meet and play. Players of all levels and experience are welcome in the Club. If you have not played in the Club before, simply show up at practice during one of the times below.

We play in the Group Fitness Room in Dillon Gym. Practice times for the summer are as follows:

 Wednesday

7 PM - 9 PM

 Friday 7 PM - 9 PM
 Sunday 2 PM - 6 PM

The gym closes for entrance at 10:45 PM on weekdays, and at 8:45 PM on weekdays during reduced hours. You can always check the current schedule here. The phone number for the Aerobics room upstairs is (609) 258-3529.

We usually use up to five tables at practices. A table tennis robot (Newgy Robo-Pong 2040) is available as well.

Membership dues for the whole school year are currently $10 for students, $15 for faculty/staff, and $20 for outside members. You can play up to three times for free before having to pay.

We are actively competing in the NCTTA Mid-Atlantic Division this year. Players for our team are selected at practice. If you are interested in competing, send us an e-mail and show up at practice!

Note for non-University members: Currently, Dillon Gym policy requires that you pay an entrance fee or purchase a facility pass to enter the building. You might not always be asked to pay the fee. The current rate is $5.

If you have any questions or want to be added to our mailing list, please e-mail us at puttc@princeton.edu.
