Conductor

Robert Gravener

Robert Gravener is an accomplished professional musician who is celebrating his 2nd year with the PUWE. Formerly Mr. Gravener directed the award winning Nottingham H.S. music program for 25 years. As a trumpet player, his recording credits include Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, Manhattan Transfer DVD, PBS Concert with Johnny Mathis and a Grammy Award winning CD with Patti Page. Always up for a challenge, Gravener is excited about the opportunity to conduct the Princeton University Wind Ensemble and looks forward to continuing success at the helm.

Student Conductor - Andy Manion

Andy is a grad student in the math department. He was an undergrad at the University of Notre Dame, where he majored in math and music history/theory. During a year at Cambridge, he got his first conducting experience with the
Orchestra on the Hill and enjoyed it so much that he decided to stick with it. When he's not conducting, you might find Andy sitting on the floor of a practice room with a piece of wood and several sharp knives. Don't worry reedmaking
(usually) isn't dangerous.
