Abby majored in Near Eastern Studies and graduated with the class of 2002; her Junior Independent work focused on the Zar: a trance dance performed by women in the Middle East to drive away evil spirits.
She was the resident Middle Eastern studies geek in the troupe; as a girl she always wanted to be a genie for Hallowe'en.
She started dancing with Raks Odalisque in the Fall of 2000, and before that, she figure skated for ten years.
She continues her studies in the Turkish style with Elizabeth Artemis Mourat.
