Who can Play?

- The Intramural Sports Office reserves the right to put into immediate effect any rule changes or modifications regarding eligibility, but before doing so, will attempt to notify participants by e-mailing a copy of such changes to the Intramural Managers.

- Only full time Princeton University Students are eligible to participate on Residential College and Eating Club intramural teams.

-Only regular members and social members of Residential Colleges and Eating Clubs may compete for their respective organizations. A club social member is considered an ex-member who has spent a year in the club.

-Individuals living in a college may not compete with an Eating Club for an entire year. Individuals living in a college that join a club may compete for their college, but not their club. Former club members who are "independent" may play for their club, provided they are not playing on another team.

-All faculty and staff of Princeton University are eligible to participate in the Intramural Program. NOTE: The appropriate facility fee ($80.00 faculty/staff rate per half-year for Dillon Gym) must be paid in order to participate. Contact the Jadwin Gym Ticket Office 258-3538 (press 1 to speak to staff) or come to Room 3, Dillon Gym to obtain a facility permit.

-Princeton Theological Seminary and Westminster Choir College students are eligible to participate in Intramural Sports provided they obtain a facility permit. Contact the Jadwin Gym Ticket Office 258-3538 (press 1 to speak to staff) or come to Room 3, Dillon Gym to obtain a facility permit.

Entering a Team

CHECKLIST

1. Print, type or write legibly. Use the official Intramural Sports entry form (available in the top shelf  on the bulletin board to the left of Room 2 Dillon Gym)

2. List the college or club, captain's name, e-mail and phone number.

3. Give Appropriate skill level - This allows you to play opponents of comparable skill level.

--A - Good skill, competitive

--B - Moderate skill

--C - Novice

4. For ice hockey and volleyball select skill level A or B. For basketball, select skill level A, B, or C. The team's win loss record during the regular season will determine the team's appropriate class (A, B, or C) for the playoffs. When this system is used, individuals and teams must responsibly choose their own level based on their self-evaluation of ability.

5. Complete a roster with as many player's names and phone numbers as possible. This is of great benefit to you in case we cannot contact the team captain. Entry forms must list the minimum number required to play before they will be accepted.

6. Please anticipate possible dates (religious holidays) or times (hours that several team members have class) that will leave the team without the minimum number of players needed to compete. Indicate those dates and times under the "Conflicts/Preferences" section on the back of the entry form.

6. EACH roster must be accompanied by a $50.00 Forfeit bond. For Eating Clubs & Residential Colleges, this will be paid in the beginning of the season and replenished as needed. Independent teams must bring two $25 checks made out to Princeton University. Forfeit fees will be returned at the end of the season if the team does not forfeit. Make sure to sign the Forfeit Bond book.

Forfeits

FORFEITS

Your entry form is a contract with the Intramural Office, ensured by your $50.00 deposit that if scheduled for competition, you will be there. Please honor that contract. If a team fails to appear at the scheduled location within 10 minutes of the scheduled game time, the IM Supervisor/Official will declare the contest a forfeit, thus resulting in the following:

1.A team that forfeits once loses $25.00 and all points earned toward the campus championship in that sport will be lost.

2. If a team forfeits twice, the second $25.00 deposit fee will be charged, the team is dropped form the league, and all points will be lost for that sport.

3. Ice Hockey, Broomball, Floor Hockey and Innertube Water Polo teams that forfeit one contest will not be allowed to advance to the playoffs.

4. If three teams from any college or club are dropped from their respective leagues in a given season, all of that club/college's deposits for that season will not be refunded.
