Projects
As part of the requirements for Rotaract, we have to undertake two projects every academic year: an international service focused one and a project that benefits the local community. Our international service project this year will be to continue to raise funds and provide for other ways to benefit the orphanage/youth care center for AIDS orphans through the Pinetown Rotary Club in South Africa. Our Easter egg fund raiser was a huge success and lots of fun and it provided enough food for an orphan for six months. Alyssa Wilson, a Woodrow Wilson School major and past recipient of Rotary's Ambassadorial Scholarship, is our contact with the Pinetown Rotary Club. We have some great ideas for our local service projects and hope to implement them this year. The Polio Project is still on, where we go to individual vendors and stores and request them to keep special polio cans on their counters. All the money collected goes towards Rotary's funds for eradicating polio
