*The Conversos and Moriscos in Spain and Beyond*

 

Papers are invited for the "Fifth International CONVERSO and MORISCO Studies Conference", organized by Saint Louis University, Madrid Campus, in collaboration with the University of Alcal=E1 at Alcal=E1 de Henares.

 

The conference will be held at the Colegio Mayor of the University of =

Alcal=E1

from *Wednesday 16 to Friday 18 June 2010.*

 

Conference papers will examine the Converso and Morisco experience in Spain and Portugal, in their empires, and in the diaspora communities of the Mediterranean.

 

As previously, the aims of the conference are to bring together an international and multi-disciplinary group of scholars to examine not only Converso and Morisco topics but also the question of social identity.

 

A selection of the conference papers will be published in the third = volume of our series of anthologies examining Converso and Morisco themes: *The Conversos and Moriscos in Late Medieval Spain and Beyond*, published by Brill Academic Press.
