Siddurim as Artifacts

The book entitled Ma towu... Alte Gebetbucher der Judischen Kultusgemeinde Wuppertal consists of mini-bios of people along with photos and descriptions of  their siddurim and some mahzorim.  Most of the siddurim and mahzorim were standard liturgy with German translations.

My question  is regarding subject analysis and classification.  Since most were standard liturgy, it seems that the subdivision Prayer-books and devotions doesn't apply.  So what I'm left with is:

Siddurim.
Mahzorim.
Judaism $z Germany $z Wuppertal $x Liturgy.
Jews $z Germany $z Wuppertal $x History.
Jews $z Germany $z Wuppertal $v Biography.

BM674.2, etc. is for the actual text.  Would this type of thing still class here?  The RLIN record has BM316, which I think is too general. How about Z6371.L5?

Answer:

In our judgment, the principal topic in this work is the biographical material and so we would give as the first subject heading the one for the biography of Jews from Wuppertal:
(650 0 Jews$zGermany$zWuppertal$vBiography) and  class the work  in DS135.G4$bW(Wuppertal).
Also, since all the biographies treat of the Holocaust experience, we would  give as a second heading
650 0 Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945)$zGermany$zWuppertal.

Also, in our judgement, neither the Siddurim nor the Mahzorim is a substantial enough topic to have its own subject heading. We prefer to expand on your heading for liturgy and give the third subject as
650 0 Judaism$zGermany$zWuppertal$xLiturgy$xTexts$xHistory and criticism.

If you decide that Siddurim should be the first subject, the work should be classed in BM674.39 (Criticism of Siddurim).
If you choose to class the work in Z6371.L5 (bibliography of Jewish liturgy), you would need a first subject heading such as 650 0  Judaism$zGermany$zWuppertal$xLiturgy$xTexts$vBibliography.
