Shiri is in her fourth year of the Science, Technology and Environmental
Policy (STEP) Ph.D. program at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and
International Affairs at Princeton
University. Her research focuses on
characterizing the impact of surface ozone pollution on global agricultural
production.
Shiri
graduated with her Sc.B. in Geological
Sciences from Brown University in 2004,
where her undergraduate honors thesis examined millennial-scale sea surface
temperature changes in the Gulf Stream.
Her Master’s thesis from the University of Texas at Austin investigated
the relationship between short-term climate variability, fire regimes, and
environmental change in southwestern Nicaragua.
Outside
of work, Shiri loves the outdoors and staying active
– soccer, snowboarding, and surfing are a few of her favorite activities. Originally from Boston, she was born with an
inherent affinity for baseball and unconditional love for the Red Sox – which has
been known to get her into trouble from time to time in this neck of the woods.
