GRIGGS PARK

The Township purchased an old dairy farm behind 184 Coppermine Road for Open Space. In combination with other open space properties, it is approximately the size of the Central Park.

The township maintains trails and is in the process of converting fields into native grasslands to attract many unusual migratory birds. It is a nice size to sustain wildlife such a fox and deer. The biggest problem for the community is the control of ATV use. The damage done by these vehicles near Simonson Creek takes years to recover. It pales the damage done by overpopulation of deer.

I love to walk my dogs there in the evenings. Cross country ski in the winter. And watch the changing seasons on the distant Sourland Ridge.
