Czech Info

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures now offers the opportunity to discover the culture of the Czech Republic and its place in Central Europe!

Why study Czech?

It’s the best way to gain direct access to the cultural riches of a country that:
- is at the crossroads of European history, culture, and politics and about to enter the European Union;
- has a landscape dotted with quaint villages, medieval castles, and priceless historical treasures worth knowing;
- represents an important center for Jewish heritage studies.

Czech culture is known for:
- its strong and innovative cinema and diverse theater tradition;
- a long and very active musical tradition (classical, jazz, folk);
- a rich and fascinating literature;
- Prague, a lively, vibrant, beautiful European metropolis and a living museum of architecture.

Enjoy a wonderful summer in Prague or other cities, attending excellent study programs for foreign students (in politics, history, culture, music, Jewish heritage).
