China and Russia: Comparisons and Relations

Description/Objectives: A comparative approach to:
historical differences in development, causes of revolution,
stages of socialism and social class policies, strategies of
reform and dismantling, social consequences of socialism.
Analysis of: Sino-Russian border conflict, alliance, the
Sino-Soviet split, prospects of the strategic partnership,
civilization clashes, and national identities. Training in
comparisons of societies, their social problems and reform
transitions.
