Feature on Arnold Group's Li+ battery mechanics research


Professor Craig Arnold describes the Arnold Group's recent research on mechanical properties of lithium-ion batteries. In particular he focuses on how mechanical compression of lithium-ion battery separators that occurs during battery operation can result in pore closure and a consequential reduction in battery capacity.
