The Cherry Tree Club is a preschool for homeless children in Mercer County, dedicated to enhancing the mental, social, and emotional development of the children who attend. The main goal of this SVC project is to allow Princeton students to assist the Cherry Tree Club in its mission to provide the dramatic and lasting effects of a preschool education to children who otherwise would not have access to such opportunities. Volunteers learn abou t social issues that are prevalent right here in our local community, and will hopefully develop the impetus to bring this awareness back to campus. This project represents a wonderful chance for the volunteers to interact with and teach amazing children, to befriend older people in the community, and to spend a few hours away from campus each week to learn about what is occurring just outside our gates.
