FISHER PREP CHARTER SCHOOL (Trenton)
svcfprep@princeton.edu

Each Saturday morning for the past six years, a group of Princeton volunteers have traveled to Fisher Prep Charter School, a junior high school in West Trenton. Working one-on-one with Fisher students, the Princeton volunteers act as mentors/tutors, focusing on relationship and confidence-building. We also do group activities. Topics include anything and everything: math, grammer, writing, theater, standardized test preparation, science, public speaking, ANYTHING. We encourage Princeton volunteers to get creative and have lots of input in what we do. The student population is an unusual blend of the highly-gifted as well as those who left other schools because of behavior issues. Student-tutor relationships are highly rewarding, often extending beyond Saturday mornings and even Princeton graduation. So, come on and get involved. What else are you going to do on Saturday morning...SLEEP?!?! Fisher is way better!
