2009 CA Coordinators

Jacob Denz

Jacobis a German major who hails from Greenwood, Indiana. He enjoys seitan, running errands, and texts into which he can sink his teeth. Jacob’s life plans are as yet undecided, but he is certainly hopeful that someone else will pay for them. His plans for the beginning of the fall semester, however, could not but include a hefty dose of CA, a program which has from his first days at Princeton has figured as one of the most important parts of his “undergraduate career.” He thinks we can all agree that the program is possibly the best thing since CatchPhrase.
Peale Iglehart

Peale, like “peel a banana,” is a rising senior from Baltimore, MD. She’s a religion major, but no, she is not going to be a minister. Next year she’s student teaching elementary schoolers through Teacher Prep. She has an unusual fondness for 90s music. She likes ridiculously spicy food and ridiculously wack nail polish. She met some of her best friends during her freshman year CA week, so she’s a big fan of CA! Also, she thinks Oprah is pretty fab.
Danielle Rochlin

Danielle is a senior from Los Angeles, California, majoring in Molecular Biology and pursuing a certificate in the Woodrow Wilson School. She is involved with Princeton Model Congress, Orange Key, and USG Academics, and loves to travel and eat frozen yogurt. She volunteered at Anchor House as a freshman and has been a leader of the Homefront and Princeton Project groups. She is SO excited for the 2009 CA program and cannot wait to meet everyone in the fall!

2009 CA Leaders

Jack Ackerman

Jack is a rising junior and politics major from Mendham, NJ, which is located in the much superior northern half of the state. When he’s not reporting for the Daily Princetonian’s news department, you can find him in the back of an ambulance (he’s an EMT), at one of Princeton’s Model UN conferences, or campaigning for some political cause. He’s an expert navigator of the Paris M‚tro but gets lost driving on the Turnpike. If you want to get on his good side, bring him green apple or watermelon flavored Jolly Ranchers.
Scott Baxter

Scott is a cool guy from Wilson
He doesn’t look like Rachel Bilson,
He seems to like cheese,
And he aims to please,
This Pennsylvanian is pretty chill, son.
Malavika Balachandran

Malavika is a rising sophomore from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Passionate about music, she works for WPRB, Princeton’s radio station, where she is both an electronic music DJ and director of publicity and promotions. An ORFE major, Malavika is interested in microfinance and is actively involved with the Princeton Microfinance Organization and hopes to have a career in microfinance one day. An avid Audrey Hepburn fan, she collects movies, posters, books, t-shirts, and much more memorabilia for her ever growing Audrey shrine. When not watching Audrey Hepburn films, Malavika loves to watch the films of her two favorite directors, Woody Allen and Wes Anderson.

He is particularly interested in Native American history and will be writing his thesis about the history of the Great Sioux nation in South Dakota. I’m also active in the Rotaract Club and CSA. Aside from that, I love afternoon naps, Twist (a new frozen yogurt joint in Princeton), mango, Google calendar, pink magnolias in Princeton, tea, nonfiction books, online television and movies, and volunteering! I’m excited to meet the incoming freshmen, and can’t wait for CA!

Ting-Fung is a rising sophomore from Hong Kong who participated in Isles last year. His favorite Princeton activity is attending arch sings. His favorite food is clam chowder and whenever Rocky serves it he eats three bowls for lunch and dinner. His idol is Cookie Monster and he takes great pleasure in reminding others that “a cookie is an all-time food.”
Kevin Donahue

You can pick Kevin out by his bathing ape shirt (i.e. from “Soldier Boy”). He likes his Frisbee to be ultimate, and dons the Whitman dining hall apron quite frequently. He”s from Rhode Island, but he went to school in Hawaii (so he”s cross-continental). He”s also into politics.
Clelia Douyon

Clelia”s a Haitian Sensation hailing from Miami, Florida. She represents for the class of 2010 and is in the English Department. Dana hails from Los Angeles, California and has mad West Coast pride! She”s an art history major who loves everything to do with art, movies and music. Dana is so excited for CA!
Mendy Fisch

This guy”s name isn”t really Mendy. His first name is actually Jacob, because Mendy is too weird, but he still goes by it. Ask him about it. Mendy also writes for the Prince, and he just ran for Princeton Borough Municipal Council.
Nadirah Foley

I hail from south Jersey (its better half) and I”m a linguaphile (French, Latin, English, Greek...). I enjoy 3-hour dinners, impromptu dance parties, and trashy reality TV. I sip tea in my cozy 118 square foot single while delving into my classics pequods.
Liz Frailey

Liz Frailey is a rising junior from Mclean, VA where she grew up with her four older siblings and two dogs, Madison and Bailey. She plans to major in art history and is fluent in Spanish. She’s an active member of P.A.C.T, loves watching Friends and Gossip Girl, and is obsessed with T. Sweets.

Farrell is a barrel of fun
And she’s also the one,
You want to lead you in the city

She’ll make it worth your while,
So make her your leader,
I’m sure you can’t wait to meet her!
Clare Herceg

Clare is a rising junior from New York’s Hudson Valley. She’s a Woody Woo major who really likes to volunteer her time tutoring prison inmates and giving Orange Key tours. After being involved with OA for her first two years, she realized how much cooler CA is, and she is really excited to lead this year!
Megan Hogan

Megan, class of 2012, is a proud member of Whitman College and comes from the state of New Jersey. She is a self-professed Harry Potter fanatic whose obsession for the series has “gone on a little too long.” In defense of her literary tastes, she would like to point out that she does enjoy fine literature as well and takes a special interest in Hemingway’s “The Sun Also Rises,” although the book pokes fun at Princeton. She has a craving for pumpkin ice cream, and in her free time she frequents Murray Dodge Café to take advantage of the free cookies and to seek random conversation.

Her favorite bands are Jimmy Eat World and Blink 182, and her favorite movie is The Dark Knight.
Andrew Kinaci

Andrew spends his days eating sushi in the architecture building and studying urban things for his certificate. He serves as the enthusiastic Vice President of Terrace Club. He’s from New Hampshire and considers himself a huge Red Sox fan. That unfortunately means that he is a terrible person, in this writer’s opinion.
Mina Kojima

Mina Kojima ’11 currently lives in the Boston suburbs but is a New Jerseyan at heart, because she grew up in Bridgewater, NJ. The right way to pronounce her name is “Mee-na Ko-jee-ma” (note: her name rhymes)! She is a Molecular Biology major and an Integrated Science student, and she loves all types of tea and chocolate. When she is not busy participating in SVC activities, you can find her fiddling away in the Sinfonia orchestra and fighting AIDS with the Student Global AIDS Campaign. While not as exciting as Naples, Italy, Naples, Florida has mustered up the coolness to provide you with this fun-loving, multi-talented electrical engineer. Jorge is a rising sophomore who is highly involved with the SVC. When he’s not tutoring for Youth Build, he rocks out on the trumpet or the piano. He listens to jazz, rock, and classical music. So watch out, CAers! This Rocky College resident will rock your world!

He is a member of LAPA (Law & Public Affairs) undergraduate associates and is the Campbell Hall representative on the Mathey College Council. He is also a member of the Mathey Social Committee. Marlene Morgan is going to figure out a major someday, and by that she means second semester of this year. She hails from Edmond, OK, a town many may have not heard of, for some reason, even though it’s the home of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. She enjoys running the Katzenbach Sign Language volunteer program at Princeton, playing a game of Ultimate Frisbee or two, and tutoring the kids of Washington Elementary in Trenton. Marlene Morgan will most likely switch back to discussing herself in first person when CA starts.

Tune in to her show “Electric Relaxation” to listen to some amazing classic rock, electronic, reggae, and old school hip hop. She can’t wait for CA!
Isabel Pike

Isabel is currently a sophomore, intending on concentrating in either Anthropology or History. “Izzy,” as she is affectionately known, is British but grew up in the African nation of Uganda. Because of her unique background, Izzy has done things that are quite different from what you would expect from most of British heritage. For example, she has eaten grasshoppers...alive! Just kidding, they were deep fried. ON campus, she is a member of Naacho, the South Asian dance troupe.
Will Plunkett

A southern gent from sweet home Alabama who always seems to be laughing, William is a senior studying architecture and civil engineering and fills the rest of his time with all kinds of campus acronymic associations. With a soft spot for lime green and whimsical wit, Will(yum!) satisfies his sweet tooth with frequent doses of ice cream in the village. After a spring abroad among the ancient rocks of Roma, he cannot wait to be back in the “orange bubble” with his CA group!
Eddie Skolnick

Eddie is from Dallas, Texas. At Princeton he has found a passion for East Asia-he studies Chinese public policy and its 20th century diplomatic history. Eddie is excited to combine service with the opportunity to help prepare freshmen for four great years at Princeton. He loves to combine service with music; he’s an incredible violinist (believe me) who can be heard playing Mozart’s “Divertimento for String Trio.” Be excited to meet this great, committed individual!

Emily is from Mesa, Arizona. She’s majoring in Sociology and Teacher Prep. She tutors prisoners, participates in Heads Up Special Riders, teaches swing dance, and plays club lacrosse. She also really loves rock climbing and bike riding.
Karen Tay

I’m Karen, a senior from Singapore. I’ve eaten 10 tubs of Ben and Jerry’s in a week and have 15 stitches from swimming into a wall. That’s really random. If I had no constraints on time and money, I’d volunteer at preschools instead of studying and work in developing countries, especially in Southeast Asia. I can’t wait to meet all of you!
Kelley Taylor

She moved around too much to know where she’s from, but she knows who she is. She’s a girl who loves to break into towers, play in kiddie pools outside Whitman, and paint her room neon colors. When she’s not breaking all the rules, she swims, is on USG Projects Board, and has Gossip Girl parties at the Episcopalian Church.
Katy Terrell

Katy hails from Houston. She’s a politics major in the class of 2011, and she runs a mentoring program on campus. She loves manatees and creatures that don’t crawl on land. Find out more about her when you come out and meet her-she can’t wait to be an ’09 CA leader!
Ariana Tiwari

Ariana is a sophomore from Bethesda Maryland. She is planning on majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and is involved with the Society of Women Engineers, Undergraduate Student Government, and the South Asian Student Association on campus. She loves playing club field hockey and hanging out with her friends in her free time. She is also addicted to Greys Anatomy, Gossip Girl, and Twist (a new frozen yogurt joint in Princeton).
Nikkitta Sutton

Nikki is a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia. A self-proclaimed sports (and chocolate) addict, she loves playing and watching basketball and volleyball. Nikki is a premed student and a prospective anthropology major. She fell in love with Princeton because of the campus, and the movie-set allure that surrounds it. Her passion for service led her to be a CA leader.
Paul Unanue

Paul hails from Norwood, NJ and attended Bergen Catholic High School. Paul’s an econ concentrator, and his favorite economist, living or dead, is Jeffrey Sachs. Strange fact: he got invited to the ice-cream scooping Olympics!
Camica Vega

This Forbesian and part-time thespian likes comparative literature and teaching ingles como un lenguaje segundo. Camila and her puppy reside in Elizabeth, NJ.
Gary Wang

Gary is a rising sophomore from Philadelphia. He’s an outdoor kinda guy-not your regular couch potato. He’s thinking about majoring in biology. He loves the size of Princeton-not too big or small. He had such a great experience with CA his prefrosh year that he had to pass it on.
Graham Wicas

On campus, I am part of Wilson College Council, The Daily Princetonian’s business office, SVC TEACH, and an Orange Key tour guide. I love shopping, shoes, Philadelphia sports teams, tennis, Baker rink, Panera, Halo Pub, and everything about Princeton. I can’t wait to meet you and make your CA experience as wonderful as mine!
