At the University Medical Center, volunteers work with health care professionals in both patient and non-patient areas. Volunteers assist in the emergency room, nursing units, blood bank, laboratory and pharmacy, and serve as couriers. Volunteers are also needed to translate Spanish between patients and doctors. This project offers valuable experience to volunteers in the health care field and gives students a chance to meet others who are interested in health care. The Medical Center is six blocks from campus on Witherspoon Street, a 15-minute walk.
