Wu Style Tai Chi

Demonstration by Wang Peisheng

Demonstration (3.5MB)

This demonstration illustrates the Wu style barehand form. The demonstration is by Master Wang Peisheng, the leader of the northern Wu style tai chi, which is so called because it is more concentrated in Beijing and northern China. Distinguishing characteristics of the Wu style are: the placement of nearly 100% weight on one leg in most Wu postures, and an early emphasis on acupuncture theory. As with Yang style, the Wu form is slightly leaning.

Sifu Won Park teaches this Wu style tai chi in his school.
