3-D seismic wave propagation through subduction zones

Previous work in collaboration with Heiner Igel and Gunnar Jahnke, published in Phys. Earth Planet. Inter. under "Wave propagation in 3-D spherical sections: Effects of subduction zones", 2002; and part of my Diplom thesis.

My 3-D finite difference code for spherical sections has been extended by Andreas Fichtner to include visco-elasticity, radial anisotropy and 3-D parallelization (rather than 1-D); and is freely available through the SPICE network.

More recently, I am working with Michael Thorne on applying this method to specific regions of interests regarding curious wave effects from slabs such as those beneath Alaska or Mexico.
