Hello, and welcome to my web page. This page is designed to give a little information about me personally, and also to describe my professional interests. Keep in mind the page is always under construction; it has been for a while. I was born in Jamaica, W.I. and emigrated to the U.S. with my family in 1980. Here, I completed High School (in Brooklyn, NY), and went on to study at Columbia University. While at Columbia, I began working in the Libraries, and so began (unbeknownst to me!) my professional career in librarianship. I am currently the Circulation Services Director at the Princeton University Library. This is a position I have held since March 2004. Prior to that, I was the Head of Circulation & Support Services at the Columbia University Libraries. I consider myself to be very fairly active professionally, and have described some of my professional interests here. |
After completing the BA at Columbia, I went on to pursue a Master's degree in Educational Administration at Teachers College, Columbia University. I also earned an Ed.M. (Master of Education) degree in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, and an MLS (Master of Library Science) from Rutgers University. What can I say, I love school! |
| While at Columbia, I was one of the founding members of GABLES-CU - the organization for Gay, Bisexual, Lesbian Employees and Supporters at Columbia, and in the past have served as its Secretary. While the group is not very active anymore (to my knowledge), some information on its history and past activities are available on the group's website. |
| When not at work or thinking about work, I love to travel. I've traveled fairly extensively, but still have a lot more to do. There is just not enough time to visit all the places I would like to. At home (now in Princeton, NJ), I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, going to the movies, or hosting small (or not so small) gatherings.
