For the Princeton variety of Robopound, two teams of four play against each other. A hard playing surface is needed, preferably a bar. Two quarters are needed, one for each team. In addition eight half-full cups and one pitcher of chuggin' beer are needed. The cups are placed in two rows of four, and the pitcher is placed out of the way of the game. The positioning for one team with the cups can be seen to the right. Now that you have the general idea of how to set up the game, the easiest way to explain more is to explain what is going on in the picture there. The people in the background are the people who all come out every Thursday and Saturday night to the Tiger Inn in the hopes that they will be able to see some of the greats play the game. The eight cups are set up in a staggered formation
