Welcome to the Webhome of
the Princeton Tigerlilies!

Founded in 1971
,
we are Princeton University's original all-female a cappella group.

Nearly four decades ago, a group of eight women filled 1879 arch on the Princeton University campus with a melodious four-part arrangement of Ella Fitzgerald's "How High the Moon". With this performance, the original all-female Princeton sound was born. Today, the Tigerlilies are widely recognized as one of the nation's premier a cappella groups.

The Tigerlilies have received global acclaim on our international tours to China, the Virgin Islands , Australia , Japan , Thailand , Hong Kong, the Bahamas , and London . We love performing locally as well. Anywhere we go, our close harmonies, warm humor, and innovative choreography delight audiences of all ages.

Album Release!

The Tigerlilies are proud to annouce the debut of our 17th album, A Lil Night Music. Recorded in May 2008, the new CD embodies everything we love about the Lils: golden oldies like Shelley Fabares' Johnny Angel, classic jazz like Ella Fitzgerald's Mean To Me, and modern tunes such as Seal's Kiss From a Rose, all brought together by the uniquely blended Tigerlily sound. The quality of the final product is owed to a combination of long hours of rehearsing and the simple joy of singing with friends. Click here to learn more, or

The LIls kept it local in October 2008, spending a lovely week on tour in New York City and Connecticut. We enjoyed bona fide Tiger hospitality at alumni functions in Manhattan and Eastern Connecticut, visited our business manager's high school alma mater, and performed at the New York Princeton Club's first annual Orange and Black Ball. Adding pleasure to business, we learned some exciting new songs, carved pumpkins worthy of the Guggenheim, and celebrated Halloween with our brother group at Yale.

Spring 2008: the Tigerlilies caught a Rocky Mountain high in the sun and snow of Colorado. Long days in Boulder saw us busking on the Pearl Street Mall, visiting four regional schools, and painting our own pottery; a short but spectacular trip to Telluride involved a day of skiing and a shared concert with two local a capplla groups.

From singing on the Great Wall to shopping at the silk market, our Fall 2007 tour to Beijing, China was a fantastic success. Highlights included a wonderful collaborative show at the Beijing Special School, singing by the lake at Peking University, and a lovely evening with Princeton alums, several of whom served as our gracious hosts.

A thousand thanks to everyone who attended Tigerlily Jam 2007. Seeing so many friends, family members, and alumni in the audience made our quadrennial concert a truly memorable evening.

During Spring 2007, the Lils went on tour to the luscious British Virgin Islands . We spent the week banana boating, scuba diving, water skiing, sunbathing, and swimming in circles around our beautiful boat. Of course, we also did a reasonable amount of rehearsing. We returned to Princeton a tight-knit group ready to welcome new members in the spring round of auditions.

The Lils spent a fabulous week in the U.S. Virgin Islands for Fall tour 2006. Alex Randall '73 was kind enough to host us for a week at his home on Water Island just off the coast of St. Thomas. The week was filled with shows, sightseeing, and lots of time at the beach! We sang at several local schools, a popular outdoor aquarium, and capped off the week with a show at the St. Thomas Yacht Club.

In Spring 2006, the Lils embarked on an amazing tour to Alabama. The group enjoyed singing at local schools, for alumni, at the Birmingham Art Museum, and even in an underground cavern. Everyone's favorite part, however, was chowing down on lots of authentic Southern BBQ!

The Tigerlilies also had a wonderful tour of London, England in Fall 2005. Highlights of the trip included singing at Oxford, a show in Westminster Abbey, some busking in Trafalgar Square, and working with middle school chorus classes at the American School of London. Of course, there was plenty of time for shopping, museums, and cozy evenings at pubs!

In the past, the group has travelled to Washington, D.C., Switzerland, Australia, Florida, San Francisco, and other amazing locales.
