Here are the results of a poll of 2D members (fall '97). 28 members responded to the survey. That's 70%. Come on 2D, we can do better than that! Email me your responses, if you haven't already!
Disclaimer: This survey is not meant to imply in any way that 2D folks can be understood by being stuck into categories. It was just out of curiosity. Enjoy!
1. So, what's your major?
Here are how many people are in which major,
in 2D (of those who responded):
| 2 physics | 1 philosophy | 1 sociology | |
| 2 comparative literature | 2 anthropology | 1 chem E | |
| 4 chemistry | 1 geology | 1 english | |
| 7 ecology + evolutionary bio | 2 molecular bio | 1 computer science | |
| 1 music | 1 religion | 1 economics |
2. Do you consider yourself
a vegetarian?
17 people said yes. (61%)
11 people said no. (39%)
Of course there is not always a clear line between vegetarians + non-vegetarians. Many folks who said no said that they did on occasion eat meat but preferred veggie options. Others said they only ate fish or white meat.
3. Did you have much cooking
experience prior to 2D?
16 people said yes (57%).
12 people said no (43%).
This was kind-of a dumb question because many of the people who said no and the people who said yes essentially meant the same thing - that they had cooked, but not often and not for a lot of people before.
4. Have you taken time off
or studied abroad (for a semester or more)?
12 people said yes (43%).
16 people said no (57%).
As if we didn't know this already - 2D has a huge proportion of members who study abroad or take time off, compared to Princeton as a whole.
