Baccalaureate and Step Sing

Sunday, May 30 Baccalaureate Ceremony and Reception for Seniors and Their Guests
  Commencement activities start on Sunday with the Baccalaureate ceremony in the University Chapel. This University convocation begins with an academic procession of faculty, trustees, administrators, and undergraduate degree candidates. The interfaith pro-gram, which lasts approximately one hour, includes music, prayers, and readings from a variety of religious traditions, as well as an address by a guest speaker.
1 p.m. Guest seating for Baccalaureate begins.
  All seating requires tickets (two guest tickets per senior). Ticketed guest seating is available both outdoors in front of the Chapel (audio system and large-screen TV), and in various lecture rooms, some air-conditioned, near the Chapel, where the ceremony is simulcast. The senior class is seated in the Chapel. Simulcast sites include: Alexander Hall (Richardson Auditorium); McCormick 101; McCosh 10 (Wood Auditorium); McCosh 50 (Helm Auditorium); and the School of Architecture (Betts Auditorium).
1:15 p.m.

Formation for Baccalaurate procession

  The class forms in pairs on the walk between Nassau Hall and Cannon Green facing the Chapel. Degree candidates wear cap (short point in front, tassel on left front), gown, but no hood.
1:30 p.m. Guests must be seated for Baccalaureate ceremony. Seating for guests: outside the chapel or simulcast sites.
1:35 p.m. Procession begins
2:00 p.m. Baccalaureate ceremony begins
   
10 p.m. Senior Class Step Sing, Blair Arch
(Dillon Gym in case of rain)
  The Senior Class Step Sing has been a part of the traditional senior celebration for over a century. It is an informal event led by seniors, in which class members and their guests participate. Songs are chosen by the senior class to reflect their Princeton experience.
