We use a PostgreSQL database on a secure web server housed in Panama, and mirrored on a second server at Princeton University, NJ. Our present data collection rate is ~320 bearings per minute (8 receivers each producing a bearing every 1.5 sec), and we have collected >15 million bearings since 2003.

The structure of this database was newly created for the ARTS, and includes information on receiver location, tagged animals, researchers using the system, and raw data coming in from the receivers.

We have designed new SQL based functions to calculate bearings and triangulate locations.
