POSITIONS OPEN: We are actively looking for driven and self-motivated individuals who enjoy scientific challenges and thrive under pressure. Currently we have three positions open, with priorities given to those with background in:
1. instrumentation
2. nano-bio interface
3. molecular biology
Congratulations to Tom Morrel for his passing the candidacy exam!
Many congratulations to Chih-Hao and Anna, whose work on a new water-soluble, ratiometric quantum dot temperature sensor has just been accepted for publication in ACS Nano!
Many congratulations to Hu Cang (postdoc 2005-2009), who has just accepted an Assistant Professorship in Salk Institute!
Our intra-cellular nanothermometry study was picked up by another news channel at PRLog ...
Warm welcomes to Daniel Gao, who will work on the mechanism of cellulose degradation by cellulases.
Warm welcomes to Max Manzanarez, who will work on the tracking probe problem.
Warm welcomes to Nyssa Emerson, who will join forces with other folks in the group to tackle the temperature sensing problem.
"Next Generation: Cellular Nanothermometer," The Scientist magazine reports our cellular thermometry work. It should be pointed out that the very first report of cellular application of nanothermometer was by us in January of 2010 in a conference proceeding.
Our work on intra-cellular nanothermometry was highlighted by TempSensorNews and by Laser Focus World.
Our work using quantum dots to follow intra-cellular local temperature progression was highlighted in the ACS National Meeting at Denver (ACS press release).
