I am currently a Harry Hess Postdoctoral fellow working with Professor Allan Rubin in the Department of Geosciences at Princeton University. Before moving to Princeton, I got my Ph.D. in Geophysics from Harvard University (Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences) in 2007, working with Professor Jim Rice, and B.Sc. in Geophysics from Peking University (Department of Geophysics), China, in 2001.

In my research to date, I have mainly focused on understanding the source processes of earthquakes, episodic aseismic deformation transients and crustal deformation in an earthquake cycle. Research projects include:

, Numerical simulation of subduction earthquake nucleation and rupture propagation processes using rate and state dependent friction law

, Physical mechanism of aseismic deformation transients, associated deep non-volcanic tremors, and relation to nearby seismicity, dynamic and static stress triggering of low-frequency earthquakes and transients

, Pore fluid pressure coupling with frictional strength and slip

See the Research page for details.
