Kundalini Yoga
Sunday, 4:30 - 6:00 pm
Wilson Yoga Space (Wilcox 306)
with Sanela
In Kundalini Yoga, we use dynamic movements together with breath, mudras (energetic seals), bandhas (body locks), sound (mantra), guided relaxation and meditation. These techniques, all combined with the awareness of the present state of being allows one to witness an inner stillness, even in the midst of dynamic movement. A deep listening is achieved and eventually a transformation comes naturally from that awareness. In this way we can see how it is to be in the place of inner peace, and train the mind and body to respond to whatever is going on around us in everyday life, in a mindful and clear way.
Yoga and Meditation
Sunday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Wilson Yoga Space (Wilcox 306)
with Sanela
Integral Yoga is a balanced combination of asana, pranayama, guided relaxation and meditation. Physical postures give inner organs and glands a subtle massage while all the body systems are being stimulated and strengthened. They provide a natural way of letting go of stress and leading the body and mind into a state of inner peace. The class always finishes with a deep relaxation to refresh and nurture the body and mind, after which a meditative state is achieved naturally.
Iyengar Vinyasa Yoga
Tuesday, 7:30 - 9:00 pm, Forbes Black Box
Thursday, 7:30 - 9:00 pm, Rocky/Mathey Classroom (go in to Rocky Common Room, then turn right and go up the stairs)
with James
James, the teacher, is influenced by the Iyengar tradition, focusing on alignment and precision of the asana practice with a little vinyasa (flow) added in.
