When the difference in mass (dM) between the isobar with the minimum mass and the isotopes of the same isobaric family is plotted against the correspdonding charge difference (dZ) (number of protons), the resulting surface takes a distinctive parabolic shape. It is possible to model the mass of the isobars based on the characteristic of the parabola obtained for each isobaric family (A).
