Fred Smagorinsky ’81 is new CEO of Artic Glacier
Fred Smagorinsky is the chief executive officer of Artic Glacier Holdings, Inc., a producer and distributor of packaged ice to retail accounts in Canada and the United States. He also sits on the Canadian company’s board of directors.
From 2010 until joining Artic, Smagorinsky was CEO at Marcal Manufacturing, a New Jersey-based producer of household paper goods from 100 percent recycled paper. In prior years, he was CEO at Schofield Stone, a quarrier and fabricator of stone products; chief operating officer of Management Leadership for Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization addressing under-representation of minorities in businesses and organizations; and held various upper management positions at Sealed Air Corporation, a packaging provider.
Smagorinsky earned a BSE in civil engineering and operation research in 1981 from Princeton and an MBA in management in 1987 from Yale.
