Jazz Vocal Improvisation Ensemble
Jazz at Princeton University's Vocal Improvisation Ensemble (VIE), directed by world-renowned Jay Clayton, presents its first public performance of the year. The program consists of repertoire from the international group VOCAL SUMMIT, founded by Bobby McFerrin, Jay Clayton, Jeanne Lee, Lauren Newton and Urszula Dudziak. The human voice was the original vehicle for music in ancient times; it was truly the primal form of creativity. The repertoire VIE embodies this ethic and taps into the purity of vocal expression.
