Open Access Week: Screening of "Paywall: The Business of Scholarship"
Please join the Princeton University Library for a screening of the movie Paywall: The Business of Scholarship.
_Paywall: The Business of Scholarship _is a documentary which focuses on the need for open access to research and science, questions the rationale behind the $25.2 billion a year that flows into for-profit academic publishers, examines the 35-40% profit margin associated with the top academic publisher Elsevier, and looks at how this profit margin is often greater than some of the most profitable tech companies like Apple, Facebook, and Google.
We are thrilled to be joined by the film's director and producer, Jason Schmitt, to lead a lively and informative discussion following the screening of his film. Save the date, and join us for this exciting event! Light refreshments will be served.
