Month of Service: Period Packing Project
The need for feminine hygiene products for individuals who don’t have easy reliable, affordable access to them is one of the best kept secrets in our community and others. The Princeton Period Project is an initiative of the Princeton Cornerstone Community Kitchen which seeks to support individuals with limited resources in our community obtain the feminine hygiene products they need every month. Without these products, people experience discomfort, embarrassment, inability to attend work/school, and often lead to health problems like toxic shock syndrome. While many of us take access to these products for granted, there is something we can do to help others in our community. Join staff from both the Pace Center for Civic Engagement and the Princeton Cornerstone Community Kitchen as we gather to learn about this important issue and assemble “period packs” for those in our community who need them.
