A virtual Veterans Day observance is planned for 8:30-9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11. The service will be broadcast on the Office of Religious Life Princeton YouTube channel.  

Remarks will be delivered by Brigadier General Katherine E. White, Princeton Class of 1988, currently mobilized on active duty as the Deputy Commanding General of 46th Military Police Command based in Lansing, Michigan.  Most recently she served as mission commander for Task Force Center-West in California for the DOD COVID-19 response.  When not on active duty, she is a Professor of Law at the Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. She is a Fulbright Senior Scholar (Germany), a White House Fellow 2001–2002, and a registered patent attorney. General White earned a B.S.E. degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton University, a J.D. degree from the University of Washington, an LL.M. degree from the George Washington University Law School, and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College. She was first elected to the University of Michigan Board of Regents in 1998, and re-elected in both 2006 and 2014.

The program will include an invocation by the Rev. Dr. Alison Boden, the University’s dean of religious life and of the chapel; and the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful by Kenneth Grayson, supervisor in the University electric shop. Dr. Mary Rorro, psychiatrist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will play a viola solo and Eric Schweingruber, will play Taps. The benediction will be offered by Imam Sohaib Sultan, the Muslim chaplain at Princeton University.
