Stretching across the northern façade of the building is a limestone-and-brick arcade with what at first glance appears to be small blocks placed at regular intervals along its top. As you step away from the building, however, you can see that these blocks form the upper half of letters, spelling out “Frist Campus Center.” In the architects’ original design, the name of the building was to be displayed in large block letters across the arcade, however, local zoning ordinances forbade such obvious signage.
