Smithsonian photo curator lectures, May 3

Mary Panzer, curator of photographs in the national portrait gallery of the Smithsonian Institution from 1992-2000 and a fellow at the Gilder Lehrman Institute of the New York Historical Society, will lecture today at 4:30 p.m. in 106 McCormick Hall on campus.
"The Happy Family and the Infernal Machine," lecture will explore photography and the origins of realism in American art from 1855 through 1895. It is the Willard and Margaret Thorp lecture presented by the University's Program in American Studies .
