Frank Wilkinson to lecture, April 4
Posted April 4, 2001; 11:18 a.m.
Frank Wilkinson will deliver his lecture "A 20th Century Legend," on Wednesday, April 4, at 4:30 p.m. in Robertson Hall, Bowl 5. Wilkinson, director of the First Amendment Foundation, has fought for the past half-century to protect the First Amendment along side Martin Luther King Jr. and other American heroes.
Wilkinson's most famous pursuit, challenging the House Un-American Activities Committee, landed him in jail in 1961, only because he refused to tell the FBI any information about his beliefs and associations. Since that time he has continued to speak out against assaults on the Constitution and for Americans' rights. His lecture is sponsored by the Princeton University Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.
