Big band music of Charles Mingus celebrated, Oct. 13

University Concert Jazz Ensemble will celebrate the diversity, energy and brilliance of compositions by jazz great Charles Mingus at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. Entitled "Better Get It in Your Soul!," the concert highlights the big band music of this prodigious recording artist and virtuoso bass player.

The Concert Jazz Ensemble is a 17-piece big band comprised of students in the University's jazz program. Anthony Branker '80 directs the ensemble.

General admission is $15, and $5 for children under 12. Admission for Princeton students (with ID) is $10 at the door or $5 for advance purchases from Jazz Ensemble members. For more details, call (609) 258-5000 or visit the ensemble's Web site.
