Gross awarded honorary degree from Hebrew U.

David Gross, the Thomas D. Jones Professor of Mathematical Physics, Emeritus, recently received an honorary doctor of philosophy degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
A world leader in theoretical physics, Gross is one of the founders of quantum chromodynamics. He joined the Princeton faculty in 1969 and was granted emeritus status in 1997.
Gross currently is director of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of California at Santa Barbara. A graduate of the Hebrew University, he also is senior director of its Jerusalem Winter School for Theoretical Physics.
