Visiting fellow to discuss 'Time Travel, Counterfactualisms and Affirmative Action,' March 13

Time Travel, Counterfactualisms and Affirmative Action' is the topic of talk to be given at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in McCosh 28. The lecture will be given by Catherine Gallagher, the Eggers Professor of English Literature at University of California, Berkeley.

Gallagher's teachings and research focus on the British novel and cultural history in 18th and 19th centuries. Her books include: "The Industrial Reformation of English Fiction: Social Discourse and Narrative Form 1832-67," "Nobody's Story: The Vanishing Acts of Women Writers in the Literary Marketplace" and, most recently, "Practicing New Historicism" (with Stephen Greenblatt).

Gallagher is a visiting short term fellow in The Council of the Humanities .
