University reopens after earlier storm closing, Dec. 5

Princeton University reopened at 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, after closing earlier in the day due to the severe snowstorm, according to Donald Reichling, acting associate director for technical services in the Department of Public Safety. A storm warning remains in effect for central New Jersey, and University officials continue to monitor the situation.

Princeton students, staff and faculty members are advised to check the University home page for updates. Campus opening and closing information also is available on the University's weather emergency hotline, (609) 258-SNOW.

The University also maintains an Emergency Preparedness Web site, which includes a link to the Office of Human Resources' emergency weather policy .

The National Weather Service provides weather updates for central New Jersey on its Web site. In addition, the New Jersey Red Cross offers winter storm preparation and safety tips online.
