Journalist to discuss Intifada, Nov. 24

Sever Plocker, chief economics editor and deputy editor-in-chief of Yedioth Abaronot, Israel's largest Hebrew daily newspaper, will speak at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall.
His lecture is titled "1,200 Days of Intifada: How It Changed the Israeli Economy and Society."
Plocker currently is a visiting fellow in the Saban Center at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. His research focuses on the impact of the Intifada and the war against terrorism on the Israeli economy, including analyzing the longest and most severe depression in Israeli history. He also looks the economic response of the government of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
