Vincent Poor , professor of electrical engineering, will present the third and final lecture in this year's President's Lecture Series at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in 104 Computer Science Building.
His lecture, titled "Anytime, Anywhere: The Wireless Revolution," will be simulcast in 222 Bowen Hall.
Poor will focus on the recent revolution in wireless communication that has led to a host of applications involving "anytime, anywhere" connectivity for the communication of voice, text and other media. He will explore the social, political and economic issues that are emerging with the new technology as they did with broadcast radio and the Internet in the 20th century.
The series was initiated by President Shirley M. Tilghman in 2001 to bring together faculty members from different disciplines. Poor's lecture will be Webcast live.
