Former Lockheed CEO Augustine discusses aerospace, Oct. 13

Norman Augustine, former chairman and chief executive officer of the Lockheed Martin Corp. and a Princeton alumnus, will discuss the aerospace industry at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in 101 Friend Center.

The talk is sponsored by the Princeton student chapter of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Augustine was a lecturer from 1997 to 1999 in Princeton's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering , from which he earned his bachelor's degree in 1957 and master's degree in 1959.

Augustine has been one of the most distinguished leaders in the aerospace industry for more than 30 years, having guided the development of space vehicles, "smart" weapons, flight and space simulators and even video games based on them. In addition to leading Lockheed Martin, he is a former chair of the NASA/White House Committee on the U.S. Space Program and a former undersecretary of the Army under President Ford.
