Jazz concert features sax legend Heath, Dec. 5

Legendary saxophonist Jimmy Heath will join members of the University Jazz Program in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.
Heath will be a guest soloist as Princeton's Concert Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble II, directed by Anthony D.J. Branker, perform a number of Heath's compositions and arrangements written for his own Grammy Award-nominated jazz orchestra.
Heath is a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Award for Lifetime Achievement and an honorary doctorate from the Juilliard School of Music. He has performed with nearly all of the jazz greats of the last 50 years, including Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Coleman Hawkins, Errol Garner and Wynton Marsalis.
