Orchestra concert to feature soloist Carpenter, March 4-5

The Princeton University Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Pratt, will present a program of works by Alfred Schnittke, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Richard Wagner in performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 4-5, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.
Schnittke's Viola Concerto will feature soloist David Aaron Carpenter, a freshman at Princeton who recently won the senior division of the Philadelphia Orchestra Albert M. Greenfield Student Competition. He also is the co-winner of the University orchestra's 2005 Concerto Competition
The program will open with Mozart's Symphony No. 39 in E-flat and conclude with a well-known excerpt from Wagner's "The Ring of the Niebelung."
