New student records system fully available Aug. 2

Faculty will be able to enter grades online and advisers will have Web access to student records starting Tuesday, Aug. 2, when the final components of the PeopleSoft Student Administration System will be in place.

The previous mainframe student records system will be discontinued once the conversion to PeopleSoft is complete. The Office of the Registrar and the Office of Information Technology have been working on this transition for a number of years and have previously introduced new features such as the online Course Information System and the Student Course Online Registration Engine (SCORE).

The PeopleSoft Student Administration System -- along with the PeopleSoft Human Resources System, which shares its database -- was taken offline on July 27 and will be fully updated by 7 a.m. on Aug. 2.

The newest features of the system include: Web grading capabilities for academic departments and faculty; an auditing function for students and their advisers to chart students' progress toward earning a degree; and a new "Stuview" system that allows advisers, departments and administrative offices to access student records.

Employees who had active login IDs for the previous Stuview already may have logins for the new PeopleSoft system. Employees who don't have access to the new Stuview can request access. User documentation and information on training for the PeopleSoft Student Administration System are available online.
