Christopher Watson, a member of the Princeton staff since 2000, has been named director of admission.
Reporting to Dean of Admission Janet Rapelye, he will be responsible
for the daily operations of the undergraduate admission office and
managing the admission staff.
"Chris has been taking on increasing responsibilities since he joined our office five years ago," Rapelye said. "He has been overseeing our selection committees, training staff members, traveling internationally and, most recently, coordinating the technological transition to the PeopleSoft system this summer. This promotion is a natural step for him to take and a recognition of his contributions to our team."
A graduate of Bowdoin College, Watson earned a master's degree in
education from Boston University. He worked as regional director of the
Foundation for Foreign Study in Cambridge, Mass., from 1991 to 1994 and
as associate director of international admissions at Boston University
from 1994 to 2000. He joined the Princeton staff as associate director
of admission and was promoted to associate dean after one year.
