Youth hip-hop group to perform, April 26

A freestyle performance by the Brooklyn-based Youth League of
Hip-Hop Activism will take place at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at
Scudder Plaza near Robertson Hall.
The performance will be followed by a panel discussion on the importance of arts movements as catalysts for the growth of social capital in underprivileged communities. The panel will include: Joe Matunis, founder of El Puente Muralistas; Candice Custodio, disc jockey of the 5th Platoon and organizer of the Youth League; Mark Stern, professor of social welfare and history at the University of Pennsylvania; and Stanley Katz, lecturer with the rank of professor in public and international affairs at Princeton.
The event is sponsored by the Policy Research Institute for the Region Undergraduate Fellows Program. In case of rain, the event will move to 1 Robertson Hall.
